A Family Environment
At The Origin, we foster a loving, family environment where fun always comes first. We believe that dancing is like dreaming a beautiful dream with your feet, only our moves are real! The Origin is about sharing the talents that God blessed us with and taking our experience to a whole new level by teaching all elements of hip hop and using it to educate our community.
The "Origin" Hip Hop Cultural Center is dedicated to bring awareness and understanding of the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, creative cultural and educational values of the Hip Hop Culture. We know that if taught properly that these values are immeasurable. It is our goal to bring to light THE TRUE meaning of Hip Hop by teaching its History, Foundation, Technique and Culture and dispel any negative Stereotypes brought forth by its commercialization. Students will learn the 4 basic elements of Hip Hop as well as 5 additional elements derived from its growth. We pride ourselves in teaching our youth to tie the Hip Hop Culture into the California Department of Education Content Standards to enhance learning. Content standards were designed to encourage the highest achievement of every student, by defining the knowledge, concepts, and skills that students should acquire at each grade level. (K-12). We also intend to gives adults the opportunity to be involved in their child’s learning as well as take part in continued learning themselves.
